Mann Yadanarpon Airlines (MYP) was established on 23 July 2013 and on 27 January 2014 the carrier was granted authorization by the Myanmar Investment Commission to conduct both domestic and international air transportation services. MYP commenced flying on 27 February 2014. With a commitment to fostering connections across Myanmar, particularly between Yangon and various key destinations, MYP aims to become a dependable domestic carrier. Led by experienced professionals from the aviation industry, MYP ensures effective administration and service delivery. Boasting a staff of approximately 500 individuals, MYP is well equipped to provide exceptional air travel experiences to our passengers. Before conducting our inaugural flights, MYP’s skilled staff undertook thorough preparations, showcasing their dedication to upholding high standards and delivering seamless service.
Our current fleet consists of two ATR 72-600 aircraft, which were delivered on 31 January and 1 April 2014 respectively. In 2019, we added another ATR 72-600 to expand our capacity. We will add more aircraft in the future to increase the frequency of our services on mainline routes and expand our network in Myanmar.
Our current destinations are Yangon, Mandalay, Nyaung-U (Bagan), Heho (Inle Lake), Tachileik, Myitkyina, Lashio, Thandwe (Ngapali), Sittwe, Nay Pyi Taw, Dawei, Myeik and Kawthaung, depending on seasonal demand. All of our destinations are of tourism and/or commercial significance. We will expand our network to more domestic destinations after acquiring additional aircraft. When we commence regional operations, we plan to service regional routes to neighboring Thailand, such as Phuket, Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
Our pilots are all qualified on ATR 72-600 aircraft, with training carried out at ATR’s Training Centers in Toulouse, France and Singapore, with recurrent and type rating simulator training at ATRapproved facilities in Bangkok, Thailand.
Our Cabin Crew Instructors have been trained at the ATR Training Center and hold instructor certificates for ATR 72-600 aircraft from Toulouse, France. Some of our Instructors have conducted additional training at the Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI) in Yangon. Our Cabin Crew have been trained at the Myanmar Department of Civil Aviation’s in-house training center, and have also undergone courses at CATI.
Our licensed aircraft maintenance engineers have type ratings on ATR 72-600 from the ATR Training Centers in France (Toulouse) and Singapore. Maintenance of our aircraft is carried out by our own Approved Maintenance Organization, which has been approved by the Department of Civil Aviation. Base maintenance is outsourced to approved maintenance, repair and overhaul organizations (MROS).
